Ts-s611 Brother Label Tape
Why does my Brother TZe label printer waste an inch of tape at the beginning and end of every label? This is 2 inches of wasted tape for every label that I print, and these label cartridges are.
However, you can minimize the amount of blank tape initially fed by choosing a different Tape Cutting Option from the list below.
NOTE:Select Small Margin or Chain to reduce the amount of blank tape initially fed before a printed label. The machine is set to Large Margin as the Tape Cutting Option by default.

-0.16' (4mm) on each side of the printed text.
Note: During printing, the machine will prompt you with the message 'Cut tape or press enter to continue' once 0.89' (22.5mm) of tape has passed thru the machine. Press the Tape Cutter Lever to cut the tape when prompted which will leave a 0.16' (4mm) left margin. After printing has completed, press the Tape Cutter Lever again which will leave a 0.16' (4mm) margin on the right side.

The machine will stop printing and the message 'Cut tape or press enter to continue' will appear on the LCD.
-The machine will automatically resume printing after the Tape cutter lever has been pressed and the message 'Printing Copies 1/X' will be displayed until the machine has finished the print job.
-A margin of 0.89' (22.5mm) is printed first and then each label is printed leaving a margin of 0.16' (4mm) on each side of the printed text.
-Follow the below steps to adjust the Margin setting to [Chain].
Enter the text for the label.
Press the LABEL key.
Press the UP or DOWN arrow key until Cut Option is displayed.
Press the OK key.
Press the UP or DOWN arrow key until the tape cutting option [Chain] is displayed.
Press the OK key to apply the tape cutting option you have selected.
Press the ESC key to go back into the text entry screen.
Press the PRINT key and select the amount of copies using the UP or DOWN arrows.
Press the PRINT key again to print the label. The LCD will display 'Working, please wait', immediately followed by 'Printing Copies 1/X'.
The machine will stop printing and the message 'Cut tape or press enter to continue' will appear on the LCD.
Press the Tape cutter lever which will cut the left side of the printed tape.
Once the printing has completed for the first label, the message OK to Feed? will be displayed on the LCD.
-If you do not wish to create another label, select the OK key when the message OK to Feed is displayed on the LCD. After the tape has been fed, press the Tape Cutter Lever.
Press the CLEAR key to clear the text only. Do not clear the text and format.
Enter the text for the next label.
Repeat STEPS H- L.
NOTE: When Chain is set, feed the tape before using the cutter otherwise a portion of the text may be cut off.
-0.16' (4mm) on each side of the printed text.
-Follow the below steps to adjust the Margin setting to [No Cut].
Enter the text for the label.
Press the LABEL key.
Press the UP or DOWN arrow key until Cut Option is displayed.
Press the OK key.
Press the UP or DOWN arrow key until the tape cutting option [No Cut] is displayed.
Press the OK key to apply the tape cutting option you have selected.
Press the ESC key to go back into the text entry screen.
Press the PRINT key and select the amount of copies.
Press the PRINT key again to print the label. The LCD will display 'Working, please wait', immediately followed by 'Printing Copies 1/X'.
Once the printing has completed for the first label, the message OK to Feed? will be displayed on the LCD.
-If you do not wish to create another label, select the OK key when the message OK to Feed is displayed on the LCD. After the tape has been fed, press the Tape Cutter Lever.

-After printing has completed, remove the tape cassette from the P-touch labeler and use scissors to cut the tape.

Press the OK key to apply the tape cutting option you have selected.
Brother P Touch Tape 1/4 Inch
Press the ESC key to go back into the text entry screen.
Press the PRINT key and select the amount of copies using the UP or DOWN arrows.
Press the PRINT key again to print the label. The LCD will display 'Working, please wait', immediately followed by 'Printing Copies 1/X'.
Press the Tape cutter lever after printing has been completed.

Brother Tze Tape 12mm Colors -There is approximately one inch of space between the print head and the cutter blade within the P-touch label printer. The three layers of material that make up all P-touch labels must pass over this space in order to be sealed correctly, see below illustration.
