We see many players struggling with their Low-End PCs to run the Ultimate Grand Theft Auto V game. Even having 2GB GPU the PC still faces some or the other issue with the game. This GTA V guide will show you the advanced settings you can make to run the game on Low-End PCs.

We can only help for the PC with minimum of the Rigs given below:

  • GPU: Nvidia GeForce 820M 2GB
  • CPU: Intel Core i5 4210-U 2.4-2.6Ghz
  • RAM: 8GB DDR3 1600Mhz
  • Storage: 500 GB +
  • OS: Windows 8/10 64-bit

Now this a test I have been wanting to do for a while. Grand Theft Auto 5 remains one of the biggest, most complex open world games out there (not to mention an insanely popular one) and therefore remains a bit of an intense game for low end computers. What better game to put the.

  1. Hi,i've made an configuration for the low end pc's,that work's for online and it's legal. This configuration is a.7z, and contains a costume commandline.txt and a optimized settings.xml with 720p Graphics, but you can modify the resolution.
  2. Hey people, this topic was made to share the solution of the problem of running GTA V on a PC or even a laptop with low end specifications. If you're playing GTA V with very low FPS, here are a list of small things that might help you.

If you have such rigs or higher then we can assure you can easily play GTA 5 on your PC. To begin with the process, we would like you to take a backup of your game if you have made any changes like mods or trainer etc. Once you're done start the game and then go to settings, select the Graphics Options and make the changes as given below.

  • FXAA: Off
  • MSAA: Off
  • Texture Quality: Normal
  • Shader Quality: Normal
  • Shadow Quality: Low
  • Reflection Quality: Normal
  • Reflection MSAA: Off
  • Water Quality: Normal
  • Particles Quality: Normal
  • Grass Quality: Normal
  • Soft Shadows: Normal
  • Post FX: Normal
  • Anisotropic Filtering: Off
  • Ambient Occlusion: Off
  • Tessellation: Off

The changes above will be same for all the PCs and taking the next part into consideration we want you to check best possible for you.

Resolution:
720p is enough for your monitor to render and give the best graphics possible. We recommend for 1280x720 resolution and do not trouble you GPU much.

VSync:
There are Three Options with VSync you have to decide which one suits you and gives the best possible outcome.

  1. On - locks the framerate to 60FPS
  2. Off - no lock on the framerate
  3. Half - locks the framerate to 30FPS(recommended)

FXAA:
To get rid of pixelated edges and make things appear smoother you can use FXAA.

End

MSAA:
It is an Alternative to FXAA, it also gets rid of pixelated edges to make things appear smoother, but it uses more GPU compared to FXAA. We recommend to use x2 option and use the least of the GPU out of the three settings.

Texture Quality:
The more the quality the more the use of VRAM on your GPU and can sometimes heavily impact framerate.

Shader Quality:
Same as the Texture Quality, but it works for giving objects and the in-game environment a realistic look and feel. It also has very low impact on the frame rate.

Shadow Quality:
Works for more shadows making it more realistic and high quality. This can have a slightly big impact on framerate depending what in-game time you're playing at.

Reflection Quality:
Works for making reflections from objects like cars a higher quality and has a medium impact on framerate.

Reflection MSAA:
Increasing the Reflection MSAA will help you get reflections more sharp and realistic and has a low impact on framerate.

Water Quality:
Works more on the visual quality of the water and has a low impact on framerate.

Particles Quality:
Low impact on framerate, but increasing it improves the particle effects visual quality making explosions more awesome and realistic.

Grass Quality:
Has a medium impact on framerate depending on your location within the game.

Gta v low graphics mod

Soft Shadows:
It has a low/medium impact on framerate depending on how many objects are casting shadows and the in-game time of day.

Post FX:
Works for Motion Blur and Bloom and it has a large impact on frame rate.

Anisotropic Filtering:
Increases the sharpness of the textures to make them more detailed and realistic. It has four options (x2, x4, x8 x16). You can use x2 for low impact on your framerate.

Ambient Occlusion:
Works for moving objects but instead of being pre-processed, it's processed in real time and have a medium impact on framerate.

Disabling the Shadow(Manual)

There is no harm to make some manual changes in the game. Just make sure you have the backup ready.

Step 1:
Open File Explorer and Go to Documents

Step 2:
Go to Rockstar Games and open GTA V Folder

Step 3:
Right click on 'settings.xml', select open with, then click on Notepad(any text editor)

Step 4:
Search for <ShadowQuality value='1' /> and change the number in quotation to 0 like this <ShadowQuality value='0' />

Step 5:
Save the file and Exit

Step 6:
Load GTA V and there will be no more shadows

NOTE: Now do now play with any in-game shadow settings.
