Mikrotik limit bandwidth with queues. The speed limit is set for the entire network. The network may use a total bandwidth of 40 Mbit for administration, and 40 Mbps for the lab network. This way, all the available IP addresses in a subnet limit bandwidth. In the main window click the 'queues'. Click on the tab 'queue types'. Best prison architect mods.

Hi all,Limit Bandwidth By Mac Address Mikrotik
I've all my AP running mikrotik with a 802.11b card working in AP mode and a 802.11a card working in wds sation to do backbone (point to point with my office).
Today I've the bandwidth control concentrade in a mikrotik in my office but I want to do the bandwidth control on the AP where the client connects to reduce the traffic in my backbone.
I made this putting the simple queue rule bellow on the mikrotik that make the AP:
/queue simple add name='Client_name' target-addresses=192.168.0.1 interface=all limit-at=64000/256000 max-limit=128000/512000 burst-time=8/8 burst-threshold=96000/384000 burst-limit=256000/1024000 queue=default/default total-queue=default priority=4 place-before=Final parent=none
In then Final queue I've a queue with unlimited bandwidth. I created this queue to observe if everthing was working fine but I observe that the Final queue have a lot of upload traffic. This is wrong! I can't have traffic on this queue because I'm making the traffic controle with one queue for each client IP.
I'm sure that ALL IP have a simple queue for each! I DON'T forget any simple queue.
Why is this occouring? Why the Final queue have traffic?

Mikrotik limit bandwidth with queues

In order to prevent a user with all the bandwidth makes off can limit the bandwidth per user. This is very simple, we assume that users acquire a fixed (static) IP address.
Bandwidth limit per IP address

Log in to the router board. In the main window click the 'queues'.

When 'name' enter the name of the user or PC. In 'target' fill the computer's IP address from which you want to limit the bandwidth.

To 'target upload' 'maximum limit' you select the desired speed.

To 'target download' 'max limit' also select the desired speed. Click 'OK'.

So, this is done for all the computers that you want to limit bandwidth. Would you limit the available IP addresses on a network you already fill the available IP addresses.
Bandwidth limit per subnet

  • When 'name' you enter the network's name. As an example, the network of the administration.
  • In 'target' enter the network in range. As an example 192.168.101.0/24
  • To 'target upload' 'maximum limit' you select the desired speed.
  • To 'target download' 'max limit' also select the desired speed.
  • Click 'OK'.

Mac address example
The speed limit is set for the entire network. The network may use a total bandwidth of 40 Mbit for administration, and 40 Mbps for the lab network.
Bandwidth limit per IP address, and this for the whole subnet
This way, all the available IP addresses in a subnet limit bandwidth.

Mac Address Windows 10

Click on the tab 'queue types'.

To 'rate' you enter the maximum speed per user. Click 'OK'.

To 'rate' enter also the maximum speed per user. Click 'OK'.

When 'name' enter a name of the network limit. In 'target' enter the IP address of the entire subnet.

Then click on 'advanced'. At 'queue type' 'target upload' select 'PCQ-upload default.

At 'queue type' 'download target' select 'PCQ-download default. Click' OK '.

The result.
